A. It removes coloured ,soluble impurities and also water and helps to get dry compound. "The acetone wash consists of nothing other than pouring acetone over the dried stuff, swishing around very well, and then discarding the acetone (cat HCl wont disolve in acetone, at least not very well). The acetone removes the annoying red color too! "
